Inspired by EPIC the Musical, Lemonyemi brings us through Odysseus's long journey to return to his home
From the artist: Hail and well met! I’m Lemon, a PA-based cosplayer and creator with a passion for storytelling in everything I craft. Whether that’s hiding character specific easter eggs throughout my costumes, or being the Game Master for anything ranging from a classic fantasy game of Dungeons and Dragons to a spooky game of Monster of the Week! After knowing Astin for so long and rekindling our connection through our mutual love for collaborative stories (thank you Critical Role!) it was an absolute dream to be able to work on a piece to contribute to one of Astin’s incredible maker collaborations! The Odyssey has always been a tale reflected in the heart of so many TTRPG campaigns, as characters experience their own versions of the Hero’s Journey. I wanted my piece to showcase the variety of mixed media skills I’ve come to acquire over my years of cosplaying, such as prop building, sewing, fabric painting, and, of course, visual storytelling. I hope this hat finds it’s way home sooner than Odysseus did– but with just as joyous of a reunion at the end ♡
